The Murray District has had an organized volunteer program for 30 years and it continues to grow with nearly 700 community and in-kind services.
The Murray Independent School District is appreciative of the 538 Volunteers who assist our Black and Gold district each and every day. The Murray Independent/Calloway County Community Education Program is one of the most successful in Kentucky, averaging 23,000 to 30,000 volunteer hours each year.
The 2023-2024 MISD volunteers logged 23,761 hours through numerous programs and initiatives: Murray Elementary School (2,688), Murray Middle School (380), Murray Preschool-Head Start (2,784), Murray High School (200), MISD Athletics (2,500), MHS and MMS Band (11,700), Academic Clubs (1,500), and Booster Club (2,009).
In Recognition of National Volunteer Recognition Week (April 7-14) we salute our Volunteers! A reception for our volunteers will be held on the MISD campus at Murray Elementary and Murray Middle campuses from 9 a.m.-Noon.
