Admission/Enrollment

State law requires children between the ages of 6 and 18 to attend school. Any child who becomes 5 years of age on or before August 1, is eligible for the Primary School Program(beginning with Kindergarten). Preschool is available for eligible 4 year-old children and those with disabilities beginning at age 3. A child with a disability is one who demonstrates a delay in one or more areas of development. Below is information on enrolling in preschool.

2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration

 
  • 2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration will be Saturday, March 15th, 2025, by appointment. 
  • Please contact the Murray Elementary School office to sign up for an appointment time at 270-753-5022.
  • February Kindergarten Readiness Packets will be available for pick up from February 24 - 28. This packet will also include Registration Information and Forms
  • Kindergarten Registration will also involve visiting classrooms and activities for your family.

Out of District Students:

  • You will complete an Out of District/State application. 
  • You will be notified in late June/early July if your application is accepted or denied.

In District Students:

  • You will complete the online registration while at Kindergarten Registration. 

All Students:

  • Please bring your child’s: (we will make copies for you)
    • Legal birth certificate
    • Social Security Card (if available)
  • Items needed at registration or prior to the first day of school:
    • Proof of Residency 
    • Current and up-to-date Immunization record on a Kentucky form
    • Physical Form
    • Eye exam
    • Dental exam
