Murray High School-Top Performing School on MSU Math day
Murray High School was the top performing school on Math Day, hosted by The Murray State University Department of Mathematics and Statics.
Murray High School was one of ten western Kentucky high schools who participated with 175 students and 17 teachers. Calloway County High School, Carlisle County High School, Fulton County High School, Graves County High School, Hickman County High School, Joppa High School, Mayfield High School, Murray High School, Northside Baptist Christian School and Paducah Tilghman High School were represented schools.
High school students and teachers engaged in a full day of math competitions and math-related activities including a team math competition, where the teams of three to four worked through hands-on activities.
Awards were presented to the top performing teams in the team competition, the top performing students in each exam level (lower and upper) and the top performing school.
Team competition winners: First place: Nate Dyer, Malaika Gachoka, Ayva Pemble-Conley and Tony Pfannerstill, of Murray High School. Third place: Isabelle Bourne, Tatum Faulkner, Preston Key and Adeline Pitman, of Murray High School.
Lower and upper exam winners: First place (lower): Anastasia Arkova, Murray High School, Second place (upper): Ewin Porter, Murray High School, Third place: Ali Yarali (lower), Murray High School; and Will Imes (upper), Murray High School.

Group scores: Murray Green (1st) 26 points: (Tony Pfannerstill, Malaika Gachoka, Avya Pemble-Conley, and Nate Dyer). Murray Purple (3rd) 20 points (Preston Key, Isabelle Bourne, Tatum Faulkner and Adeline Pitman.
