Recently, the Murray Middle School Chess Team hosted and competed in the Murray Middle School Scholastic Chess Tournament with over 80 students from across the region. Players competed in four rounds of United States Chess Federation (USCF) rated chess.
The MMS K-5 team took home first place in the K-5 section, with five students placing: Tommy Estadt placed (first), Oliver Morales-Volp placed (second), Landyn Scsavnicki placed (third), Bibiana Subedi placed (fourth) and Lily Rayburn placed (fifth).
The MMS K-8 team also took home first place in the K-8 section: Jackson McCann (second), Cabot French (third), and Anthony Hughes (fourth).
