Murray, Ky., Jan. 15, 2024------The Murray Middle School Academic Team finished second overall at the Governor's Cup district competition hosted by South Marshall Middle School on Saturday, January 13.
The quick recall team finished second and there were numerous individual top five finishers. Liam Williams finished fourth and Wes Shelby fifth in the mathematics assessment. Edward Utgaard finished fourth and Liam Williams fifth in the science assessment. Wesley Shelby and Benjamin Mehta tied for fourth place in the social studies assessment. Devanshi (Dee Dee) Shastri finished third and Kenzie Bourke fifth in the Language Arts assessment. Carrie Mills finished fourth and Anna Wilson fifth in the Arts and Humanities assessment. Edward Utgaard finished fourth and Cade Turner fifth in the composition assessment.
The team will compete in the regional competition on February 10 at Graves County Middle School.
