Murray Independent School District Celebrates MISD Students, Staff, and School Community in the 2022-2023 Kentucky School Report Card/Accountability Data

MISD Releases Accountability Scores

Murray, Ky., Nov 1---Murray Independent School District is proud to celebrate MISD students, staff, and school community in the latest release of Kentucky School Report Card/Accountability data for the 2022-2023 school year.

Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and Senate Bill 158 (2020), Kentucky Schools are held accountable for a combination of academic and school quality indicators and measures known as “state indicators”.  The state indicators include: state assessment results in Reading & Math, state assessment results in Science, Social Studies and Writing, English Learner Progress, Quality of School Climate and Safety, Postsecondary Readiness (high school only), and Graduation Rate (high school only).  For each state indicator there are five Status Ratings ranging from very high to very low and five Change Ratings from increased significantly to declined significantly.  New to the accountability system for 2022-2023 is the implementation of “Change” which measures school performance in the indicator areas using the difference in performance from the previous year.  In addition an Overall Performance Rating is determined by combining performance in the state indicators based on both Status and Change.

Murray Independent is proud of each school for their performance on the state assessments and other indicators in this year's accountability system.  Murray Elementary and Murray Middle 6-8 received the top rating, Blue for the second year in a row, Murray Middle 4-5 also received the top rating, Blue, improving from Green in 21-22; while Murray High received the overall rating of Green.  In multiple areas/indicators Murray Independent Schools rank at the top of the list for student performance and success.
