Murray, Ky., Oct. 30, 2023---The Murray High School Tiger Band took the top spot and won the class AAA state championship title at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.
The band's Finals performance score of 92.2 was their highest ever in a state final.
The win caps off an undefeated season, which saw the band earn Grand Championships at three other competitions including MSU’s Festival of Champions, as well as being named Class 1A Champion at the BOA Bands of America Regional Competition in Memphis.
The band qualified for finals competition earlier with a score of 86.2, good enough for the first at the state Semi-Finals held at Warren Central High School beating out 11 other qualifying bands. In the semi-finals, the band also won Best Visual Performance, Best Music Performance, Best General Effect, and a Distinguished Rating.
