MHS Speech Team
Murray, Ky., January 30, 2023---The Murray High School Speech Team won first place at the Murray Middle School Invitational Speech Tournament held at Calloway County High School. Calloway County High School took second place with 136 points and Daviess County came in third with 98 points. Murray High Speech won individual awards in the following categories:
Broadcasting: (first) - Raegan Settle; (second)- Marli Mehta; and (third) - Aidan Wild; Declamation: (first) - Wednesday Roberts; (second) - Anastasia Arkova; (fourth) - Madelyn Meyers; and (fifth) Collin Zellmer; Dramatic Interpretation: (first) - Raegan Settle; (second) - Ellie Klarer; and (fifth) - Payton Dawson; Duo Interpretation: (second) Aidan Wild and Payton Dawson; and (sixth) Marli Mehta and Madi Vigil; Extemporaneous Speaking: (second) - Aidan Wild; (fourth) Amelie Johnson; and (fifth) Ali Yarali; Humorous Interpretation: (fifth) - Madi Vigil; Impromptu Speaking: (second) Raegan Settle; (fourth) Marli Mehta; and (sixth) AnnaBelle Mills; Oratory: (third) Amelie Johnson; Poetry: (first) Anatasia Arkova; and (second) Payton Dawson; Program Oral Interpretation: (first) Anatasia Arkova; and (second) Payton Dawson; Program Oral Interpretation: (second) Wednesday Roberts; Prose: (second) Ellie Klarer; and (fourth) Wednesday Roberts; Storytelling: (second) Laney Like; (third) Ali Yarali; (fourth) Madison Vigil; and (fifth) Mira Kinsley.
Murray High will next compete in the Murray Regional Tournament at Murray Middle School on Saturday, February 11. The Murray High Speech Team is coached by Michael Robinson.
