MISD Board Vacancy Filled

Mark Vinson

On May 18, 2021, the Murray Independent Board of Education, by majority vote of the Board, appointed Mr. Mark Vinson to fill a board vacancy created on April 15, 2021. Currently, the seat is held by Dr. Miranda Terry, who is re-locating due to an employment opportunity. Vinson’s service will begin on July 01, 2021.

Vinson, a 1977 graduate of Murray High School and a former MISD Board Member with 12 years of experience, currently serves as the President/CEO of Money Concepts Wealth Management & Financial Planning located in Murray.

“I’m honored to be able to serve the Murray Independent School District again, and will do the best I can for the students, and administration,” Vinson said.

“We are very fortunate to have Mark Vinson return to the Board of Education. During his previous service, he established a reputation for making sound, student-centered decisions,” stated Coy Samons, MISD Superintendent.

Mark, and his wife Becky, are residents of Murray. Their children, Kelly, and David, are MHS alumni.
