Students, Parents, Teachers, and Staff of the Murray Independent School District,
Governor Andy Beshear issued an additional executive order (attached) on Tuesday (02/23/21). The order calls for school districts to expand in-person opportunities.
Masks will continue to be required for staff and all students Kindergarten through Grade 12. School districts must also follow the expectations in the state’s Healthy at School guidance and continue to offer online options for students through the end of the school year.
As of March 01, districts will not have to follow the color-coded mode of instruction metric that had been in place since this past fall. Now that school personnel have been offered the vaccine, any accommodations for high-risk employees will expire on March 15, 2021.
Kindergarten through Grade 06
Beginning, Monday, March 08, 2021, the Murray Independent School District will provide five-days per week of in-person instruction for students K-06. An online option will continue to be provided for families that choose to do so. At a later date, Murray Elementary School will release information on expanded educational options for online only students in grades K-03. If questions, please contact your child’s school.
Grades 07-12
MISD students in grades 07-12 will continue the current modes of instruction of four-days per week of in-person instruction (Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday) for families that choose to participate. An online option will continue to be offered for students and families that choose to do so. All students 07-12 will participate in Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) on Wednesday of each week. Preschool/Head Start
Starting March 08, 2021, Preschool/Head Start Centers will continue to offer online and in-person modes of instruction. Preschool in-person instruction will return to a four-day per week schedule (Monday through Thursday). An online option will continue to be offered for families who prefer this mode of instruction. Food Service
Murray Independent Schools will continue to provide meals for children ages 0-18. Information on distribution procedure is available on the district’s website www.murray.kyschools.us or by calling (270) 753-5700.
