- The Murray Independent School District completed their (1:1) one to one Chromebook initiative this week. Mechelle Morgan, MISD Learning Coach, said the MISD is excited to roll out the 1:1 Chromebook initiative for all (K-12) students. ”Over 1600 students now have access to a device daily, which will allow for more student engagement, personalized learning, and creativity.”

Prior to Winter break MHS students began receiving Chromebooks, and this week the remainder of the high school students, received their personal devices. MMS students (6-8) were distributed their personal Chromebooks this week, and every K-5 classroom, and teacher, now have personal carts housing individual Chromebooks for each student.

Denise Whitaker, MES principal, said this is a great day for the district. Whitaker explained in the past, MES teachers shared Chromebook carts among themselves. “Now, each MES teacher has an individual cart inside the classroom to accommodate their students, providing technology every day on an unlimited basis.”

Tony Jarvis, MHS principal, said MHS students are equipped with instructional tools to continue their daily learning. “Murray High students now have an individual device to use as a support to the great instruction that happens every day.”

Bob Horne, MMS principal, said MMS faculty and students are thrilled to be 1:1 school. “This allows our teachers to enhance our technology instruction to a new level.”
