Murray Independent School District Foundation For Excellence (MFFE) is working with the MISD to provide internet service for students in need. This partnership is collaborated with Murray Family Resource Youth Service Center (FRYSC), and The Den Youth Services Center (The-Den YSC).
Angel Renick, MFFE president, said this is an imperative need for the MISD students, and the MFFE is excited to provide this service. “The Foundation for Excellence is happy to provide this service to students, in addition to the many other programs the foundation supports including teacher mini grants, and scholarship endowments.”
Morgan Carman, FRYSC coordinator, appreciates the relationship with the MFFE. “This is a much-needed vital service for our families, during a time of on-line internet learning. This joint-effort will continue to provide for this growing need,” she said. “This will be a continued necessity even when students return to campus, and the MISD will continue providing this service during the school year for research and homework.”
As the MISD continues to advance the 20th Century Technology services to their students, MISD will soon embark on a one-to-one device program for its students to enhance the internet service for students in need. “Once the program gets under way, all students in grades K-12 will be assigned a device with some grades allowing the students to travel with the device to and from home and school.” Rusty Back, MISD CIO, said. “ More details on this program will be released at a later date.”
