The Murray Independent School District announced beginning, Monday, April 20, there will be only one free food distribution point for the remainder of the 2020 school year. Effective Monday, April 20 through May 15, there will be only one pick-up service location offered for distribution of free food for MISD families. The pick-up will be at Murray Middle School, 801 Main Street, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday and Thursday of each week. Monday pick-ups will provide breakfast and lunch meals for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday pick up will provide breakfast and lunch meals for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Coy Samons, MISD superintendent, said April Adams, Food Services Director, and the MISD Cafeteria Staff, are pleased to continue the food-service program. “In these uncertain times, we will continue to tweak the process, and notify the public of any changes in a timely manner,” he said. “We applaud the efforts provided to our MISD families by Ms. Adams and her staff.”
As of Friday, April 17, the MISD has served 26,626 meals to MISD families and community.
