MISD Extends Non-Traditional Instruction

MISD Extends NTI Non Traditional Instruction

Murray, Ky., March 20----Due to the recent confirmation of a COVID-19 case in Calloway County by the local Health Department, the Murray Independent School District will be closed to students through April 17, 2020. Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) will continue through this period.  The MISD Spring Break (April 6-10) will still be observed. During spring break, all MISD facilities will be closed. There will be no food services or Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) provided April 6-10.  

 

Coy Samons, MISD superintendent, continues to follow the steps as recommended by Governor Andy Beshear, Kevin Brown, Kentucky Department of Education interim commissioner, and local agencies in an effort to care for all involved. “During this difficult time, we appreciate the patience and support displayed by our Tiger families and community.”

 

MISD is one of the 171 Kentucky school districts, (including Kentucky School for The Blind and The Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSB/KSD) approved for NTI instruction.  The MISD continues to advise the community to follow the recommended social distancing practices and CDC guidelines.
