Murray Independent School District has been recognized as a 2020 Best School in America by Niche! MISD is ranked (2) out of 168 K-12 Kentucky public school districts, and recognized as number (1) with the best teachers in Kentucky's public school districts.
MISD moved to second this year from its third place ranking in 2019. Fort Thomas continues its first place ranking, while Beechwood moved to three and MISD is recognized as (2) among the elite three Kentucky School Districts in 2020.
Each respective MISD school garnered their own top placements moving up also. MHS ranked 6 moving up from their 2019 (10) placement, (out of 242). MHS is also recognized as (16) among Kentucky High Schools for Best College Prep Public High Schools. MMS ranked number 2 (out of 306) middle schools, moving a notch up from their 2019 (3) ranking. MES moved up two notches to the second best public elementary school in Kentucky in 2020 among Kentucky's 704 elementary schools.
